Who designed the APEX?
The APEX ramp is a result of almost 20 years of design, manufacturing and collaboration with BC3 athletes by the charity DEMAND Design & Manufacture for Disability. DEMAND is a charity dedicated to specialist assistive design and creating products that positively impact people’s lives.
For many years our team of designers and engineers have made a range of boccia ramps to suit players at every stage of their boccia journey, and the APEX is the latest addition to our range.
The APEX is our most advanced ramp yet, designed with all the features you need to compete at the top levels of the sport.
Each of DEMAND’s design projects stems from a request made by someone looking for a creative solution to a challenge they’re experiencing. Our design team works with the individual and others with similar needs in order to find a solution that can have an ongoing positive impact for lots of people.
We fundraise in order to do what isn’t possible for profit-making businesses and make specialist assistive designs available to anyone who needs them. Our design work is charitably funded so we can avoid passing on large development costs to people who use our designs.
We hope you love competing with the APEX as much as we’ve enjoyed bringing this project to fruition!
Where can I get help with funding?
There are a number of grants available to assist with the purchase of specialist sports equipment. The Disability Grants website is a great place to start your search. DEMAND are happy to assist with applications for grant funding where possible.
DEMAND may also be able to pair you with a funder or sponsor so please reach out to our team if you’re looking to take your boccia career to the next level with an APEX ramp.
Can I get the APEX outside of the UK?
Yes! Please contact our team to discuss shipping of your order outside the UK.
